I just recently saw Floyd Mayweather Jr wrestle “The Big Show” at Wrestlemania. I heard that Mayweather was paid $20 million for it. That’s not too surprising because Mayweather knows how to make money. And he loves to flaunt his wealth and his lavish lifestyle. Regardless of how you feel about how he spends his money, you have to respect his business sense and his ability to make great money.

Of course, he isn’t just a great money-maker. He is a great fighter. And it’s great watching him fight.

Oscar De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather Jr fought last spring. Their fight broke box office records. I’ve seen it referred to as the richest fight in boxing history. So it is amazing both from an athletic and a business perspective.

Better yet, it appears that there is going to be a rematch. You can try to get De La Hoya/Mayweather tickets for the rematch early.

According to Golden Boy Promotions’ CEO Richard Schaefer, the rematch is almost finalized for either September 13th or 20th.

Mayweather won their last fight by a split decision, taking De La Hoya’s junior middleweight belt. It’s a close match-up. I do not think they have decided at what weight they will be fighting yet.

Anyway, if you are interested in boxing or in business, then you probably want to keep this fight in mind.
