Be Careful when Renewing Domain Names
If you have had a domain name for long, then you have probably received mailings trying to get you to transfer your domain name. I want to warn you to be careful before renewing or transferring your domain name.
There are some companies who send out these mails to your mailing address, not just your email. In the mailings, they will try to make it seem like you just need to renew your domain name. In reality, you probably do not need to renew your domain name; they are just trying to fool you into switching to them as your domain registrar. Generally, I have noticed they charge about two or three times the going rate per year for domain names.
It’s a trick! Don’t get fooled into switching to an expensive registrar.
Of course, you do need to renew your domain name before it expires. But you can do that through your registrar, and generally you will do it online not through snail mail.
What do you think?

Yes totally agree with you, there are many registrar sending such mail to offer for domain transfer. my advise is to check your account with current registrar and renew domain from there only. it will be good practice to for domain renewal.
