The difference between a successful blog and one that fades into nothing is in the number of readers visiting each day. If your goal is to create a large source of income from your site then attracting more visitors is key. This means that you need to increase both your new or unique traffic as well as regular readers.

Create a Loyal Readership

RSS Feed
This is one of the most basic pieces of the blog puzzle which creates a stable group of visitors reading each of your daily postings. An RSS feed notifies your readers that you have created another article and made a new posting on your blog. The RSS feed will also help create a stream of income as more visitors mean a higher page ranking and better search placement.

Social Networks and Engines
There are a number of social bookmarks and other networks available for blogs to utilize. Using a small piece of code on your website, each of your posts can be bookmarked, shared and voted on by readers around the world. Some blogger favorites are Digg, Technorati and Del.icio.us.

Friends and Family
When starting any new business you should first have the support of your family and friends! Let them know that you’ve started a blog and get them to visit on a regular basis. While this will increase your readership immediately, they can also support you by book marking your postings, referring their friends and talking about it with colleagues.

Increase New and Unique Traffic

Search Engine Optimization
The old saying, “it’s easier to keep a customer than find a new one” truly fits on the web. Attracting new visitors will be through a combination of regular postings, great content and search engine optimization techniques. When creating a new article, think about who will be visiting the site and what they will be searching for. Decide upon your main keywords and use them throughout the body of the post.

Niche Marketing
This technique requires a little additional work but it will pay off with a huge amount of traffic. By looking for optimized search terms with low competition you can direct a huge amount of free traffic to your site. The best part about niche marketing is that everything you do costs nothing and the traffic you receive will be hungry for what you’re offering!

Final Thoughts
Each of these tactics takes some time to implement on your site. The important thing to remember is that any source of residual income can only run on auto-pilot after the preparation work is done. By using these techniques within your blog strategy, you will find that your traffic will increase significantly and your increased income will follow!

Apart from the design of banners the location where it is placed is also important for driving traffic to the website where the banner is linked.

Designing a Banner: A banner should be a perfect blending of graphics and words which can speak themselves a thousand words about the website for which it is designed for. There are many banner designing sites, which can help you to produce banners of different sizes and quality. But if you know some basic photo shop or flash software, you yourself can create a high quality banner easily.

Following are the steps to create a banner.
1. Visualize a Theme for the Banner.
2. Determine the Size and Type (Horizontal, Vertical, Square) of Banner.
3. Select an Appropriate Graphics.
4. Select Appropriate Words to be used in Banner.
Location of Banner Advertisement: The location of banner advertisement is mainly determined by the size of the banner. Mainly there are three types of banners. Horizontal banner, Vertical banner and Square Banner. The placement of these banners will be based on the size and type of the banner.

For example, If it is a 160×600 banner (Vertical), then the best suitable location will be on the right side of webpage. A banner having a 468×60 or 728 x 90 (Horizontal)size can be placed horizontally at the top of a webpage or bottom of a webpage. A 250×250 (Square) banner can be placed in the middle of the content.

An autoresponder is simply a program that automatically responds to an incoming email. It can be programmed to respond with a single email or with a series of emails. Usually it will respond immediately to the first email and then followup with a pre-programmed series of emails over a certain interval of time such as once every day, every other day, or every week. For Newsletters, it can be programmed to send out once every month.

In the early days of the internet, we had to manually respond to every email. Because of the nature of the internet and life, people are impatient and want what they want when they want it. As a result autoresponders were created. Now when a customer sends an email to a company, an autoresponder sends a reply back stating that they received the email and will email back shortly. You most likely have received one of these yourself. In fact nowadays most web host companies offer this kind of autoresponder with their hosting packages.

Internet Marketers who already knew the importance of followup marketing soon realized how powerful an autoresponder would/could be if only it could send out a series of emails over a predetermined interval of time. Thus the modern day autoresponder was born. Over time more and more features have been added to them. A good autoresponder system can help you manage your mailing list, your newsletters, and marketing campaign. They can deliver your digital information products, answer frequently asked questions, and YES, they can and will increase your Sales Dramatically! With the current mood that is taking place in the Internet arena, it is not surprising to know how well audio streaming has invaded and captured the interest of most net users. There have been a lot of changes made on the features of the Internet and one of the major changes made was the inclusion of audio files on websites. Truly, it has revolutionized the streaming arena with the massive display and overwhelming appreciation of net users to this kind of technology. Be it as a new craze in the internet arena, there are a handful of ways on how you can make use of this tool to increase sales and eventually increase output in traffic?

• Make a personalized greeting for your web visitors. It is such a nice welcome treat for your clients to be hearing your personal voice welcoming them. It is going to be like a change in the welcome environment as the personal voice of the owner is going to be heard.

• If you have a compiled audio interview on your archive, it is best suggested that you share these interview files to your audience. By including these interview files either talking about a specialized topic or the otherwise, it would be best for your listeners to be hearing these.

• You may also want to include testimonials on your website. If these testimonials are actually on an audio file, so much the better. It gives an aura to validity when people talk about their experiences more than just stating them in written words.

A lot of folks starting out trying to make money on Ebay always ask the same question: What is the best thing to sell on Ebay? No doubt that you will search the internet and be confronted by fancy software and expensive e-books which claim to help you in your quest of finding the perfect product to sell, but it is really not that complicated. Everything you need to do your research can be found on Ebay itself.

If you have a browse through various categories on Ebay, a few of the listings will have the word ‘HOT’ next to them. This is put there by Ebay when that particular item has 30 bids or more. Just by locating a few of these items in different categories will be a good indicator to what sells well.

Another way (and more accurate) to make money on Ebay is to scan the auction listings which have already ended. By doing this, you can see how much a particular item was sold for which may indicate what price you could sell the same item.

Head over to http://listings.ebay.com and click on the category of your choice. Then scroll down the page and in the left hand column, check the ‘completed listings’ box, then click the ‘Show Items’ button. This will reveal the results you seek.

And if you really want to do some hardcore research into what sells and what does not sell, head over to ‘Ebay Marketplace Research’ at pages.ebay.com/marketplace_research It will show you every little bit of data you could ever need to know about the auction buying trends.

Ebay also have a section on the site which lists all the popular items. The data is gathered from recent searches of Ebay. This is good as it will show you what people are searching for. It’s very easy to use and you can view the page at popular.ebay.com

If you’re serious about making some extra cash with Ebay, doing a little research first will save you time and bring you greater rewards in the long term.
